Trainer Willie Mullins is looking to Wicklow Brave to earn his way to the Melbourne Cup.
A Grade Three winner and Grade One placed over hurdles, Wicklow Brave finished fourth in the Goodwood Cup won by Big Orange.
Mullins, who trained last year's Cup runner-up Max Dynamite, said Wicklow Brave could go to the Lonsdale Cup or Irish St Leger in an effort to boost his rating to get into the Melbourne Cup in November.
"He stayed on really well (at Goodwood)," Mullins said.
"Andrea Atzeni rode him and it was the first time he had sat on him.
"He's not the easiest of rides and he just thought he might make a little bit more use of him the next time, but it puts him in the Melbourne Cup picture.
"Hopefully we'll get another run into him and if just keeps improving, we'll be in Melbourne come November."
Wicklow Brave finished third in last year's Irish St Leger won by Order Of St George who is the TAB's early favourite for the Melbourne Cup.
