Bookmakers have suspended betting on the British jockeys' championship amid concerns Ryan Moore is carrying an injury.
Ladbrokes reported a flurry of bets on defending titleholder Silvestre de Sousa as it emerged Moore was to spend time this week on holiday with his family in Portugal.
He was due to ride Caravaggio in the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday but the colt's trainer Aidan O'Brien said he believed Moore had a hip problem.
"He was having trouble with a hip," O'Brien said.
"I knew that the last while and you could see he was lame while he was walking but I wasn't speaking to him since.
"I'll speak to Ryan before making a decision on who rides Caravaggio. The plan is to run him."
