Beloso goes back to back with Brisbane win

Saturday 6 August 2016, 1:05pm

Kim Craft's decision not to rush Beloso has continued to pay dividends with an impressive win at Eagle Farm.

Craft bought Beloso for $35,000 at the 2015 Gold Coast sales and formed a syndicate of women owners to chase the female bonus in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

However, Beloso proved immature in his attitude and Craft decided to take her time with the gelding who scored his first win two weeks ago at the Gold Coast.

Her patience was again rewarded when Beloso ($4.40) scored by a half head to General Assault ($18) with a long head to the unlucky Royal Tithe ($3.30) third.

"We hoped to be in the winners' circle earlier in the year but we had to wait and we are here now," Craft said.

"I will probably give him one more run and then put him away for the summer three-year-old races."

Craft said Beloso had the potential to be one of the best horses she had trained once he got his act together.

Winning jockey Glen Colless has a big wrap on Beloso and wasted to ride the gelding at 54kg.

Colless was distressed on returning the scale but said the effort had been worthwhile.
