Kentucky Miss will be declared to run in two states with trainer Joe Pride making a compelling case to keep her in Sydney for the San Domenico Stakes.

Although the Quezette Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday against her own sex might seem an easier option than taking on Golden Slipper winner Capitalist at Rosehill, Pride believes the small field in Sydney could work in her favour.

With the likelihood of only five or six runners, the Group Three San Domenico (1100m) gives Kentucky Miss the chance to earn black type.

"I'll accept in both places and wait and see what barrier she draws in Melbourne," Pride said.

"It will probably come down to that. But if there are only going to be five or six runners in the San Domenico then that's tempting.

"It's important for her to get black-type and Rosehill might be the best opportunity to do that.

"I'm not saying she can beat Capitalist but she could definitely run a place."

Kentucky Miss has won two of her six starts and most recently finished fifth in a 1000m-race at Caulfield on July 30.

She claimed her second career win at Wyong on July 12 on a soft surface while her winning debut was on a heavy track, something Pride said was a likely factor in where she raced.

"She's up and running and is having her third start of the preparation and is up and going before the others," he said.

"And she definitely likes wet tracks so there are a few things in her favour."

Kentucky Miss is a $15 chance in first markets which are headed by Capitalist at $1.60.

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained colt was also odds-on for the Missile Stakes at Randwick last Saturday but was scratched because of the heavy track.

His stablemate Russian Revolution will most likely be diverted to Melbourne for the Vain Stakes.
