With Australian racing's most famous active winning streak set to go on the line at Randwick, Super Tycoon has extended his own run to four victories.

In the opening event on the Warwick Stakes card on Saturday where Winx will look for 10 wins in a row, the Greg McFarlane-trained Super Tycoon won his fourth consecutive race in Sydney.

Jockey Glyn Schofield hugged the rails as Super Tycoon, the $3.30 favourite, pulled away in the straight to win by 1-1/2 lengths from Pera Pera ($7) with Bolord ($21) a neck away third.

An emotional McFarlane said he was gobsmacked.

"My heart was pounding before the start of the race like it never has before," he said.

"It's hard to win one in town let alone four in a row."

McFarlane returned last year from a two-year disqualification for attempted race-day treatment of a horse in July, 2013.

He said Super Tycoon was the horse helping him rebuild his career.

"He's been an emotional ride from the start," McFarlane said.

McFarlane said he was tossing up between spelling the horse or pressing on to the Group Three Cameron Handicap at Newcastle on September 16.
