Ryan Moore set to ride at Newmarket

Thursday 25 August 2016, 6:20am

Star jockey Ryan Moore is set to return to action with one ride at Newmarket.

Moore will ride the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Spatial on Friday, his first ride since July 31.

The jockey, who has ridden many big winners around the world including the 2014 Cox Plate on Adelaide and Melbourne Cup on Protectionist, has been out with an undisclosed injury believed to be related to a hip.

"I'm pleased to say that I will be back riding at Newmarket on Friday. I am on Spatial in the opening race," Moore said in his Betfair column.

"I have been riding out for a couple of weeks, but it made sense to give the injury time to completely settle and heal before I started race riding.

"There was simply no point in rushing back, with such a busy autumn campaign both domestically and internationally, and I have been having physio every day and generally keeping myself busy."
