Victoria Police are investigating abusive calls made to Racing Victoria chief steward Terry Bailey.

Racing Victoria would not comment on the calls that allegedly involve a jockey.

"The matter is subject to a Victoria Police investigation and thus we do not intend to comment on it any further at this time," a Racing Victoria spokesperson said.

Last October the front door of Bailey's house had gun shots fired into it.
