Seven rides for Clipperton at Sha Tin

Friday 2 September 2016, 6:41am

Sydney jockey Sam Clipperton has seven scheduled rides at Sha Tin on the first day of the new Hong Kong season.

He begins a three-month club contract on Saturday and among his rides is the John Moore-trained Dashing Fellow in the feature race of the day, the Chief Executive's Cup (1200m).

Clipperton has ridden the five-year-old in work and says he is looking forward to the race.

"He's very much a push-button ride," Clipperton said.

"I expect a big run from him on Saturday even though he's stepping back to 1200 metres, which probably isn't his ideal distance."

The 22-year-old Clipperton attracted the attention of Hong Kong authorities with a stellar autumn in Sydney which included two Group One wins.
