It's Somewhat could get a shot at the Caulfield Cup after strolling to victory in the Group Three Craven Plate.
Punters who backed It's Somewhat at his $1.55 starting price had little cause for concern as jockey James McDonald eased the horse down to a 4-3/4 length victory at Randwick on Saturday.
Chris Waller-trained Spiritjim ($2.70) finished second in the four-horse field and Pinstripe Lane ($31) took the minor placing.
Godolphin trainer John O'Shea said It's Somewhat's light weight in the Caulfield Cup made the race a live option but a Group One in Western Australia over 1800m could also be on the cards.
"There are a couple of options, he's in the Caulfield Cup with 53.5kg," O'Shea said.
"We were just having a chat earlier, we might take him to Perth for the Kingston Town.
"If we are going to do that we've probably got to give him a run in Melbourne at some point."
Despite the meagre opposition, O'Shea was impressed with the win.
"I think he would have taken a fair bit of beating no matter what was in it today," O'Shea said.
"He was very impressive and he did it quite easily."
It's Somewhat was third behind Winx in the Group George Main Stakes (1600m) at his last start and relished the step up to 2000m.
