Koby Jennings' ban sours winning double

Saturday 8 October 2016, 6:16pm

Apprentice jockey Koby Jennings has had a winning double soured with a second suspension in as many metropolitan meetings.

Jennings won the Highway Handicap aboard Distinctive Look after getting Niccolance home in the 1400m benchmark handicap at Randwick on Saturday.

The latter ride drew the ire of stewards, who handed him a five-meeting ban starting on October 17.

He is able to return to riding in races on October 27.

Jennings received an eight-meeting ban at Canterbury on Wednesday but has a stay pending an appeal.

Fellow apprentice Blaike McDougall was also outed for eight meetings for his ride aboard Signposted.
