Iron-horse Denoninator could be headed back to Victoria for next month's Ballarat Cup after scoring another Eagle Farm win.

Denoninator has been the mainstay of the John Symons-Sheila Laxon training partnership since they moved from Victoria to the Sunshine Coast in April.

The gelding has had 14 starts since May, winning four and being minor placed a further six times.

Denoninator ($2.40) made it three wins from five starts at Eagle Farm when he scored by 1-3/4 lengths to My Diamantine ($7.50) in the Driver Recruitment Handicap.

Symons said Denoninator was a tough horse who just loved racing, especially at Eagle Farm.

"He is going to get up in the weights. Long-term we might look at the Brisbane Cup because he is a genuine stayer who would love the 2400 metres ," Symons said.

"But short-term we are tempted to sneak him back to Victoria for the Ballarat Cup."

The Ballarat Cup (2200m) will be run on November 19.

Trainer Toby Edmonds' decision to drop back Prompt Return ($2.40) from 1200m to 1000m was rewarded when the gelding broke the track record in the DPMA Handicap.

Records for the new racing surface continue to tumble at Eagle Farm with Prompt Return clocking 56.99 seconds which took off 0.67 seconds from Frequendly's record set last week.

"Prompt Return is a horse who wants to over-race sometimes in 1200m races so he really likes it when the pace is on at 1000 metres," Edmonds said.

The win was the first leg of a double for Edmonds and jockey Jeff Lloyd as they later combined with Battle Land ($4.20) in the NuGrow Class 3 Plate.

It was Battle Land's first start for Edmonds after being trained by Peter Moody and then Darren Weir in Victoria.
