Sacred Elixir firms for Victoria Derby

Sacred Elixir has a stranglehold on betting for the Victoria Derby, firming to $2.90 since drawing barrier one for the Flemington Classic.

The Tony Pike-trained New Zealand three-year-old confirmed himself as the market leader for Saturday's 2500-metre staying test with his win in last Saturday's Vase at Moonee Valley.

So Si Bon is the TAB's second elect at $8.50 to give trainer Robbie Laing and jockey Hugh Bowman a second Derby to go with their success in 2013 with Polanski with the Hawkes Racing-trained Swear at $10.
