Malaguerra favourite for Winterbottom

Wednesday 9 November 2016, 6:46am

Last-start Darley Classic winner Malaguerra is the favourite for the $1 million Winterbottom Stakes in Perth.

The Peter Gelagotis-trained gelding is at $2.80 but is not yet a confirmed runner in the $1 million sprint at Ascot on November 26.

Rival trainer Joe Pride has confirmed 2014 Darley Classic winner Terravista will be on the plane leaving Melbourne on Sunday night.

Terravista is at $3.50 for the Winterbottom with Takedown next at $6.

The Winterbottom (1200m) is one of three $1 million Group One races during the Perth carnival with the now-retired Buffering winning in 2013 and again last year.

Locally-trained Perfect Reflection is the early favourite for both the Railway Stakes (1600m) on November 19 and Kingston Town Stakes (1800m) two weeks later.
