Field of eight for G2 Zipping Classic

Wednesday 9 November 2016, 11:49am

Three-year-old So Si Bon will take on the older horses in the Group Two Zipping Classic with the colt's connections opting for the weight-for-age race over the Sandown Guineas.

The Zipping Classic (2400m) has attracted a field of eight which includes three internationally-trained horses - Big Orange, Beautiful Romance and Secret Number.

Five of the eight runners are coming through the Melbourne Cup including the Chris Waller-trained Who Shot Thebarman who finished fifth at Flemington and will be chasing back-to-back Zipping Classic wins.

The Group Two Sandown Guineas (1600m) for three-year-olds has a field of nine including the in-form Darren Weir-trained filly Jennifer Lynn and the John O'Shea-trained colt Morton's Fork who was narrowly beaten in the Carbine Club Stakes at Flemington last start.

English horse Qewy headlines a field of 11 for The Sandown Cup (3200m).

The Charlie Appleby-trained Qewy won the Geelong Cup at his first spring carnival appearance in Victoria before finishing fourth in the Melbourne Cup.
