Jockey Glyn Schofield's five-meeting careless riding suspension will stand after his appeal was dismissed.
While the appeal was pending Schofield was able to ride through the spring carnival in Melbourne where he rode Prized Icon to victory in the Victoria Derby on October 29.
Schofield was charged over his ride on Laucala at Warwick Farm on October 19 but the stay of proceedings triggered by the appeal meant his case was not heard until Wednesday morning.
Schofield will be out of action from Thursday and be allowed to return for the Saturday meeting at Rosehill on November 26.
