The owner of a spelling and agistment farm has been found guilty of animal welfare charges relating to six horses seized from the property west of Port Macquarie.
At an inquiry on Tuesday, Racing NSW stewards also issued another charge against Fiona Turner of Gilturn Farm for failing to attend the hearing.
The six emaciated horses were taken from the property on September 18 by the RSPCA and Turner was charged with failing to provide veterinary treatment and proper and sufficient nutrition.
Registered thoroughbred owners Steven Schubert and David Gillespie, who is listed as a partner in Giltun Farm, were also charged with failing to attend the stewards' inquiry.
Stewards have set December 2 as the date for submissions on penalty.
The six horses in question have since been returned to full health and rehomed.
