Disappointed trainer Colin Little will recommend bypassing a Moonee Valley race with last-start winner Domino Vitale after the mare came up with the widest barrier.

Little said the final decision whether Domino Vitale ran in Saturday's Ranvet Handicap (1600m) would be up to the mare's owners but his preference would be to wait for another day.

Domino Vitale defied a wide run to win strongly at Sandown last Wednesday and Little considered Saturday's benchmark 84 for mares an ideal race for the five-year-old.

"We've taken four months to get her to settle," Little said.

"She used to race up on the speed and over-race. From that barrier I'll have to go back last or lead and I don't want to try to pressure her to lead. I just think it would teach her to over-race again.

"We've spent a whole preparation getting her to settle so it would be my recommendation that she doesn't run from that barrier but ultimately the owners will have the decision."

A capacity field of 15 plus one emergency has been declared for the race.
