Zinzi proves Heinrich right with Farm win

Saturday 26 November 2016, 2:26pm

Gold Coast trainer Gillian Heinrich's theory on why Zinzi failed in Sydney has been proven right at Eagle Farm.

Zinzi ($9) won a three-way slog to beat Bold Kingston ($4) by a long head with a head to another Heinrich filly Cool Mover ($1.85) on Saturday.

Heinrich has a good opinion of Zinzi a $47,500 Snitzel filly who will now be set for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

"Her first run in Brisbane was very good and we decided she was up to Sydney class so we took her to Canterbury," Heinrich said.

"But we had put winkers on her and I have never seen it before but she just refused to race when the barriers opened."

"So we got her back here and took the winkers straight off. I figured that was what was wrong."

Zinzi is raced by Heinrich's daughter Tayla and is eligible for $500,000 in bonus payments in the Millions.

"I am sure there will be something there for the trainer," Heinrich said with a laugh.

Heinrich now trains in partnership with Ben Rodgers while she continues to recover from bowel cancer.

"I still have regular check-ups but things are good at the moment. Ben has been great," Heinrich said.

Heinrich won the Millions Classic in 2010 with Military Rose.
