Stewards quiz apprentice Heywood over ride

Stewards have grilled apprentice jockey Nick Heywood over his ride on Secret Trail after she was beaten in a close finish at Rosehill.

Stipes took issue with Heywood's vigour on the horse in the early part of the straight in Saturday's last race.

Heywood said he was waiting to use the horse's limited sprint after sitting three wide during the race.

The inquiry was adjourned while stewards review Secret Trails' racing pattern.
