Speed – Speed – Speed – horses either have it or they don’t.
Dynamic Syndications 3yo filly DELIRIUM (Exceed And Excel / Red Fever) certainly does and she took no prisoners when resuming from a spell for Dynamic trainer Chris Munce as she sizzled around Ipswich against the older horses on Friday, recording a new Class Record 45.42 for the 800m event with a scintillating last 600m of32.01.
DELIRIUM with jet pilot Jim Byrne in the saddle, was on the back foot as the gates crashed back but within a couple of bounds was in front and stayed there, racking up a 3.3 length x 1.8 length margin and taking .06 secs off the Ipswich 800m 3up Maiden Plate.
A Magic Millions graduate, she was originally trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott and has always shown excellent ability however the lack of short course opportunities in Sydney would play against her and her owners.
So a change of state to Queensland where short course racing exists, and the filly did the rest.
Facing the starter for just the second time in her career she lived up to expectation and showed the ability to add several more photos for the wall.
DELIRIUM won The Division 4 DASH Maiden Plate 800m in 45.42 (32.01) by 3.3 x 1.8 carrying 54.0kgs defeating $1.90 Fav Cougar (51.5kgs) Class Record 45.42 secs (45.48).
