The last race at Eagle Farm has been abandoned with an approaching storm cutting visibility.

While there was initially no rain it was so dark the visibility was almost nil.

Chief steward Allan Reardon said the Listed Mode Plate could not be run in such conditions and the future of the race would be decided at a later date.

"It would have been unsafe to race in such conditions. It is like night," Reardon said.
