The sons of two legendary jockeys have combined for a winning double and in the process hammered bookmakers at the Gold Coast.

Trainer Gary Moore, the son of George Moore, and jockey Luke Dittman, Mick Dittman's son, won the QTIS Three-Year-Old (1800m) with Hostwin Vintage ($4.80 to $3.80) and the Class Three Plate (900m) with Winning Supreme($8 to $5).

"He (Luke Dittman) rides as good as his dad which is saying something. Luke does exactly what you tell him and that results in wins," Moore said.

Rosehill-based Moore said Hostwin Vintage would head back to Sydney and Winning Supreme would go for a spell.

Dittman, who is one of the tallest jockeys in Australia, has struggled for quality city rides since coming out of his apprenticeship last year.

But he has had 13 winners this season from 93 rides and hopes the double will put him back in the spotlight.

"Hostwin Vintage was very strong at the finish and Winning Supreme was also strong although he had a look at the crowd," Dittman said.

Sydney's leading jockey Brenton Avdulla got a good feeling for his Magic Millions Guineas mount Eckstein when she charged home to win the Open Hcp (1200m).

Trained at Goulburn by Kurt Goldman, Eckstein ($2.80) had the perfect hit-out before she takes on star colt Winning Rupert in the $2million Guineas next week.

"It was good for Brenton to have a ride on her before the Guineas. She usually jumps better than she did today and he will know her better next time," Goldman said.

Eckstein has now won four of her seven starts and is on the third line of betting for the Guineas behind Winning Rupert and Group One winner Global Glamour.

"Our grand final is next week and it was a good effort today against older horses," Goldman said.

Iron horse Bodega Negra will step up in distance after winning the 1800m-open handicap.

The gelding had run last in the Brisbane Handicap at his previous start but trainer Bruce Hill said the track had been too hard.

"He is a tough old bloke and he just needs the sting out of the surface to do his best. Bodega Negra is racing up on the pace in his races now and I think 2000 metres isn't beyond him," Hill said.
