Greater prize money in Sydney and a lack of numbers has made the decision to take Jacqui's Joy to Randwick an easy one for Victorian training partners Mitchell Beer and Max Hinton.

Jacqui's Joy snapped a year-long winless run at Sandown a week ago and she will be sent to Sydney to run in Saturday's DX Solutions Handicap (1600m) for fillies and mares.

She was also nominated for the same grade and distance at Moonee Valley.

The Randwick race worth $100,000 attracted nine nominations and seven acceptors while the $60,000 Moonee Valley event had 30 nominations.

Beer said taking the mare to Sydney to race for near-stakes level money in a rating-78 against her own sex was "a bit of a no-brainer".

"We've been keeping a close eye on Sydney nominations and acceptances over the last month," Beer said.

"Obviously they've had a great prize money increase, running for $100,000 on Saturday, and there's just a real lack of numbers in Sydney at the moment.

"There were nine nominations and seven acceptances. She was nominated for the exact same rating and distance race on Saturday at Moonee Valley worth $60,000 and they had 30 nominations.

"So it was pretty easy for us to make our mind up."

From next month, two-year-old and three-year-old races and open handicaps at metropolitan Saturday meetings in Melbourne will increase to $100,000.

Formerly trained in New Zealand, Jacqui's Joy won her first three Australian starts last summer as a three-year-old but recorded only one placing in nine subsequent starts until breaking through at Sandown last Wednesday.

"We've been happy with her the whole way through but we'd been scratching our heads as to why she hadn't won for a while," Beer said.

"Last start just cemented that there is nothing wrong and she's going as good as she ever has."
