Trainer Bruce Brown has a long-held theory he hopes will hold true again with promising mare Khaleesi at Eagle Farm.

Brown is noted for managing his fillies and mares with great success including the 2002 Golden Slipper winner Calaway Gal, the $1million Pelican Waters Classic winner Emma's Affair and stakes winner Morning Lover.

Khaleesi is a granddaughter of Emma's Affair and Brown says the whole family has been marked by their toughness.

"Khaleesi has been up since August apart from a little three week break in the middle. But she has been ultra consistent," Brown said.

He said he had a theory any horse which won its first race for him would go to win in open company.

"I know it sounds stupid but it has been tried and true for me. Whether they won (on debut) at Beaudesert or Eagle Farm I have had a lot of horses who have gone through to win in open company from there," Brown said.

"Khaleesi won her first start at Beaudesert and has shown form ever since. She is lightly raced for a five-year-old mare and I think the best is yet to come."

Khaleesi will be attempting to make it back-to-back wins in the Randw.com Hcp (1200m) at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

"She is a stronger mare now and I think she might even develop in to a winter carnival horse," Brown said.

"A few punters wanted to criticise us when we changed her riding tactics a few runs back. She had been leading but now we are riding her back in the field she is racing even better.

"She might get over more ground and the other thing is she handles all tracks."

He has booked in-form apprentice Tiffani Brooker for Khaleesi who will carry only 53kg.

"I would expect her to get a nice run from barrier seven and Tiffani should suit Khaleesi," Brown said.
