Omei Sword's no-show in the Eskimo Prince Stakes has opened the race up for Godolphin colt Bezel.

The Chris Waller-trained Omei Sword was the dominant favourite for Saturday's Group Three race until she was found to have a muscle issue.

Waller said the Golden Rose runner-up was being attended to by a physiotherapist and as long as she galloped well on Tuesday, she would line up against her own sex in the Light Fingers Stakes next week.

Bezel is now the $3.50 favourite for the Eskimo Prince (1200m), his first start since his third to the Waller-trained Comin' Through in the Carbine Club Stakes in the spring.

Comin' Through is also resuming in the Eskimo Prince but has to give Bezel 2-1/2 kilograms and is at $4.60 alongside Guard Of Honour.

By Street Cry, Bezel is the first foal out of Group One winning mare Beaded.

"He didn't have very long off and has come back in good shape," trainer John O'Shea said.

"His trial last week was pretty quiet and he might need the run on Saturday.

"But he's on track for the Randwick Guineas which looks the right race for him and he'll run in the Hobartville Stakes in two weeks-time."

James Doyle rides Bezel while Brenton Avdulla will be on stablemate Bryneich, a last-start winner at Canterbury on January 20.

"He put up a big performance to win like he did the other night," O'Shea said.

"To be fair, he probably had a few things in his favour, a fitness advantage, so it wasn't a huge surprise. But very pleasing at the same time.

"We've also got the Randwick Guineas in mind for him. He's obviously a bit sharper at this stage than Bezel, we'll see how he comes through Saturday and then decide where we go"

Michael Walker will come to Sydney from Melbourne to ride Comin' Through, a half brother to multiple Group One winner Criterion.
