Olly Tait to return to the Riverina

Wednesday 8 February 2017, 3:23pm

Olly Tait will return to his roots with the much-travelled bloodstock expert and his wife Amber buying Twin Hills Stud at Cootamundra in the NSW Riverina.

The property will provide racehorse and broodmare agistment, sales preparation and consignment as well as being home to the Taits' bloodstock.

The Taits will return to Australia from England to begin the new business in April.

"Having grown up close to Twin Hills and been fortunate enough to work and live in the major thoroughbred breeding centres of the world, I know how lucky we are to have this opportunity," Olly tait said.

"It is a magnificent property with world class facilities on beautiful land," Olly Tait said.

Twin Hills was established by Ferd Calvin before being bought by media personality Mike Willesee in the early 1980s.

Willesee sold the farm to Jack and Bob Ingham in 1993.

Bob Ingham later sold the property to Sheikh Mohammed's Darley as part of his dispersal of the Woodlands Stud racing and breeding operation.

Olly Tait's experience includes many years with Darley in Australia, Japan, the United States and England.

The Tait family was inducted to the Australian Racing Hall of Fame in 2014 in recognition of its history of racing and breeding in the Riverina with horses such as Baguette, Tie The Knot and Spinning Hill.
