Brisbane's hot conditions will determine whether Banda Spice gets the chance to continue trainer Stuart Kendrick's outstanding season.

The forecast is for a top of 35 in Brisbane on Saturday and Kendrick is one of several trainers who have expressed worries should the mercury go higher..

Banda Spice is scheduled to run in the Open Hcp (1350m) at Doomben.

At the halfway mark of the season, Kendrick is second on the Queensland trainers' premiership, 20 winners in front on the Sunshine Coast title and equal sixth on the Brisbane table.

Kendrick moved to the Sunshine Coast from Mackay in May 2013 and has had more than 300 winners since.

"We won the state provincial title last year but we have had 53 winners in the first six months of this season so it has been our best start to date," Kendrick said.

"The thing is to keep the momentum going."

One of the mainstays for Kendrick has been Banda Spice who won three races in a row before a good fifth in the Listed Sunshine Coast Cup at her most recent start.

"She is going great and I think she is up to open company. But the heat will decide whether we start or not," Kendrick said.

"She won a provincial championship race at Eagle Farm on a very hot day and it really knocked her about. I don't want to risk it again and we will wait to see what the weather does."

Banda Spice was bred by her owner Ross Cutts who has had many good horses including Banda Spice's sire, Group One winner Show A Heart.

James Orman, who has been stepping up his association with Kendrick, will take over the ride on Banda Spice

"James won on Unchartered for us at Caloundra on Sunday and he is a jockey on the up," Kendrick said.
