Apprentice Andrew Adkins had only regret about Classic Uniform making the transition to stakes-winning galloper at Rosehill.
Classic Uniform ($7) fought out a stirring to finish with topweight Red Excitement ($9.50) in the Listed Parramatta before getting home by a head.
But the no-nonsense four-year had to take another step on Saturday in the absence of colourful trainer Gary Moore.
Moore's exuberance in welcoming stable runners' back to the winners' stall knows no bounds and Adkins said Classic Uniform deserved a similar reception.
"The only thing that is missing is Gary. He would have added a bit of excitement," Adkins said.
Classic Uniform has given Adkins his second stakes winner - two weeks after landing his first on In Her Time in the Breeders' Classic.
A designated leader in most of his races beyond 1400m, Classic Uniform took up the running despite the presence of noted speed merchant Religify.
He was challenged strongly at the 200m but an 8kg weight pull over Red Excitement made the difference in a tight finish.
