Blue blood filly Earth Angel has started her racetrack career on the same note as her famous mother Miss Finland by winning on debut at Ballarat.

Miss Finland won her first start at the country Victorian track in January, 2006 before going on to win five Group One races during a 26-start career which netted more than $4.6 million prize money.

Two-year-old filly Earth Angel is by Animal Kingdom and became the first winner for the Kentucky Derby and Dubai World Cup winner.

Animal Kingdom will return from the United States for the 2017 southern hemisphere breeding season to Arrowfield Stud which races Earth Angel.

The filly was well-supported from $4.20 to $2.90 favourite in Wednesday's 1200m maiden.

After settling midfield under Damien Oliver she was able to angle into the clear inside the final 200m before racing to a half-length win.

"I think she's going to make a really nice three-year-old filly," Oliver told broadcaster Racing.com.

"She's doing it on raw ability at the moment. She's got a big stride, she's a lovely scopey filly.

"I think over further with a bit more time she's going to develop into a lovely mile-plus filly.

"I think she will be stakes-class for sure as a three-year-old over a bit further."

Miss Finland's progeny includes the 2015 Group One Thousand Guineas winner Stay With Me.

Earth Angel is prepared by the Lindsay Park training partnership of David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig.

David Hayes trained Miss Finland.

Earth Angel became the 15th individual two-year-old winner for the Lindsay Park stable so far this season.
