Provincial C'ship qualifier faces move

Wednesday 22 March 2017, 4:13pm

The Provincial Championships qualifier at Kembla Grange will be relocated to Goulburn if weather continues to impact on an already saturated track.

Racing NSW announced the contingency plan on Wednesday shortly before a storm was forecast to hit the region.

Kembla Grange was rated a heavy 10 on Wednesday afternoon after a break in the weather offered some respite but another deluge is anticipated overnight ahead of Thursday's meeting.

The track will be inspected at 6.30am and if Kembla Grange is considered unsafe for racing the meeting will be transferred.

Goulburn was classified as a soft 7 on Wednesday and was in "generally good condition", according to a Racing NSW statement.
