Craig Williams has been given the all-clear and released from hospital following a fall at Mornington but will miss the first day of The Championships at Randwick.
Melbourne's premier jockey suffered concussion in the incident on Saturday and under the rules must spend seven days out of the saddle before undergoing a fitness test.
The jockey rode international visitor The Gold Trail in the Mornington Cup in which the Godolphin horse finished fourth but broke down with catastrophic leg injuries after the post and was euthanised.
Among Williams' scheduled rides at Randwick was the Darren Weir-trained Tosen Stardom.
Godolphin's locally trained Tally won the Mornington Cup to earn a ballot exemption to the Caulfield Cup in October.
