A heavy Randwick track is a cause of concern for Melbourne trainer John Moloney ahead of the Carbine Club Stakes.

Moloney has Magic Millions Guineas winner Flying Jess engaged in Saturday's Group Three race with the filly facing heavy conditions for the first time.

While the prospects of a track with give in it didn't concern Moloney, he doesn't want it too wet.

On Friday the track was rated in the heavy range but with strong winds it is expected to improve.

At her only start on rain-affected ground, Flying Jess finished midfield in an 1100m-race at Flemington last September.

"I don't mind a giving track but I don't want it too wet," he said.

Flying Jess scored a boilover win at $101 in the Magic Millions Guineas at the Gold Coast in January and has had one start since.

After racing on the speed Flying Jess weakened to finish sixth behind Theanswermyfriend, an opponent on Saturday, at Flemington on March 18.

"It was just fair I thought her first-up run but she travelled up outside the leader which is not her normal running position," Moloney said.

"Her condition gave out and she didn't really enjoy the hard track but she's trained on well and when she does have a fresh run she does bounce off it pretty well second run back."

Moloney hopes the filly will be improved by that run.

"There's a few there that are in good form but we know she can get on her Sydney leg," Moloney said.

"If she can find her form she can run really well."

Moloney will also be keeping a watch on the Bendigo meeting in country Victoria where he has Liberty Song, Orient Line and Pay Up Bro engaged.

"Orient Line has been around the mark in stronger races and Pay Up Bro has been racing well and I expect both of them to run good races," he said.
