Snitzel closing in on 2yo record

Wednesday 26 April 2017, 8:49am

Leading sire Snitzel has the Australian record for individual two-year-old winners in a season in his sights after a double on Anzac Day

Risen won at Gosford and General Mu at Bathurst on Tuesday to take his tally to 30, the number he had last season to equal Without Fear's long-standing record.

Snitzel, who stands at Arrowfield, will command a service fee of $176,000 in the upcoming breeding season.

Two of his 30 juvenile winners have been in New Zealand including Summer Passage who won the Group One Sisterna Stakes and finished second to another son of Snitzel, Invader, in the ATC Sires' Produce Stakes.
