Tangled is the new favourite for the Group One J J Atkins Stakes following his strong win at Doomben.
Named after a Disney movie, Tangled charged home off a hot early pace to win Saturday's Group Two Champagne Classic at Doomben on Saturday.
The colt was a $26 chance for the J J Atkins (1600m) on June 10, but has shortened to $6.50 behind Melody Belle with UBET but is the $6 favourite ahead of the New Zealand filly with the TAB.
Trainer Chris Waller has a great strike rate in Brisbane two-year-old races and picked Tangled as an ideal J J Atkins horse after the colt won at Wyong at his previous start.
"I think he is a really nice colt and he is going to be even better over further," Waller said.
"His dam Bramble Rose won the New Zealand Oaks so he should also go on to be a three-year-old."
Tangled will have his next start in the Group Two BRC Sires' Produce Stakes (1400m) at Eagle Farm on May 27.
He was Waller's third winner of the race following Pressday (2010) who went on to win the Sires and the J J Atkins and Brazen Beau (2014) who ran second in both before going on to win the Group One Coolmore Stud Stakes and Newmarket Handicap at three.
Stablemate Counterattack has shortened from $26 to $13 for the Stradbroke Handicap after his second to Redzel in the Doomben 10,000 on Saturday.
