Quick Feet too fast at Rosehill

Saturday 20 May 2017, 12:48pm

Quick Feet has trouble living up to her name on wet tracks but has scrambled home on a soft Rosehill surface for a long overdue win.

Co-trainer Peter Snowden said he almost scratched the three-year-old filly from Saturday's 1400m race and would have done so if more rain had come.

Quick Feet came to Rosehill a veteran of 12 starts for one win on debut in November 2015.

But as Snowden pointed out she had run a couple of good thirds in Group races won by two Chris Waller-trained stars, Omei Sword and Foxplay.

"It is a well-deserved win," Snowden said.

"She never runs a bad race but it's hard because she is track dependent.

"I almost scratched her but I thought we would probably have a wet track next week and Brisbane is out of play because of the wet up there."

Punters were wary of Quick Feet's form, sending her out at $13 with White Moss the $3.60 favourite.

White Moss failed to get away cleanly and settled second last, against her normal pattern.

She made her run in the straight but failed by a short half head to run down Quick Feet, who is raced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al Maktoum.

"It's a toss-up whether she goes to stud or races on so it's good to get a win for the sheikh because he is a big supporter of the stable," Snowden said.
