Tactical Advantage stamped his class and emerged as a lightweight Stradbroke Handicap contender when he won at Doomben on Saturday.
Starting the $4 favourite in the Three-Years-Old Plate (1200m), Tactical Advantage shortened from $51 into $26 with Ubet for the Stradbroke after overhauling All Over Bosanova ($6) to win by a short neck.
Trainer James Cummings will weigh up carnival options for the three-year-old but hasn't ruled out a start in the the $1.5 million Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 10.
"He's nominated for the Stradbroke and we'll see what happens," Cummings said.
"The field would probably have to fall away a bit for him to sneak in but we'll reflect on the strength of his performance today and weigh it up.
"He's a real winner and he was ideally placed today but he still had to come out and do it."
Jockey Glyn Schofield was impressed by Tactical Advantage's win and believes the gelding will be better suited when he strikes a firmer surface.
"On a dry track he can turn on a 10 cent piece and you could tell today was not his preferred going," Schofield said.
"If I went around them he couldn't have won so I elected to switch back to the inside, which was the difference between winning and losing."
