Trainer Chris Munce's outstanding season with two-year-olds will peak when he has three genuine hopes in the Group Two BRC Sires Produce Stakes at Eagle Farm.

Munce knows all about winning the Sires and Brisbane's other main two-year-old race, the Group One J J Atkins Stakes (1600m), to be run on June 10.

As a jockey one of his last big wins was the 2012 Sires-Atkins double on Sizzling.

Heading Munce's trio in the Sires' Produce will be Saint Patricks Day who showed he could handle the controversial Eagle Farm surface with a strong win in the Listed Dalrello Stakes two weeks ago.

Munce elected to miss the Group Two Champagne Classic on May 13 with Saint Patricks Day and instead trialled him at Doomben on Tuesday.

"He won the trial and has come ahead in leaps and bounds since the Dalrello. One thing he has shown he can handle all types of surfaces and he can handle Eagle Farm," Munce said.

Munce said if Saint Patricks Day raced as well as he expected in the Sires' and J J Atkins, the gelding could head south for the spring.

"I don't like getting too far ahead of myself but obviously if he keeps improving there are plenty of three-year-old races in Sydney and Melbourne for him," he said.

Saint Patricks Day is one of nine juvenile winners Munce has prepared this season.

While Munce is a big fan of Saint Patricks Day he believes Ours To Keep and Champ Elect give him a real chance of a Sires' trifecta.

"Ours to Keep has been very brave in his two runs back when nothing has gone right. Both times he has had to go up on the pace and he has been attacked both times," Munce said.

"But he fought on well and the 1400 metres will give him a chance to settle."

Munce said likewise filly Champ Elect has been dogged by bad barriers.

"Give me three good barriers on Saturday and we will give them something to beat," Munce said.
