Unstoppable jockey Jeff Lloyd is poised to break yet another riding record this week.
The 56-year-old has already smashed the record for the most winners in a Brisbane metropolitan season with 118, beating Chris Munce's previous mark of 103 set in 2011/12.
Lloyd is booked for seven rides at the metropolitan class meeting at Ipswich on Wednesday.
He is now on 153 Queensland winners which is two short of Munce's state record of 155 also set in 2011/12.
Lloyd has ridden 155 winners on all Australian tracks which puts him three short of Munce's record for all tracks by a Queensland based jockey.
Lloyd, who also has two wins outside Queensland, is locked in a tussle with Perth's William Pike to be Australia's leading jockey with the latter leading 158 to 155.
"As I keep saying if you ride winners the records can look after themselves," Lloyd said.
Leading apprentice Tiffani Brooker is also after a record, chasing Tegan Harrison's mark of 51, the highest for a female jockey in the Brisbane premiership.
With two months of the season remaining, Brooker is on 41 and has nine scheduled rides at the 11-race Ipswich meeting.
