No Stradbroke penalty for Bonny O'Reilly

Monday 5 June 2017, 12:20pm

Bonny O'Reilly has not been given a penalty for her Listed win at Doomben and remains outside the field for the Stradbroke Handicap.

The Bjorn Baker-trained mare's rating went up to 96 after her win in Saturday's Helen Coughlan Stakes, lifting her from 25 to 19 in the order of entry for the Stradbroke.

With the switch of Saturday's Group One feature from Eagle Farm to Doomben, the race is over 1350 metres instead of 1400 and has a field limit of 16.

Baker has also entered Bonny O'Reilly in the Group Two Dane Ripper Stakes on the program as a back-up.

Stablemate Egyptian Symbol is safely in the Stradbroke field with Glyn Schofield to ride.

Clearly Innocent, the last-start winner of the Group One Kingsford Smith Cup, remains the $3.50 favourite with the final field and barrier draw to be determined on Wednesday morning.

With a minimum top weight of 57kg needed for the Stradbroke, weights will rise 1.5kg with Clearly Innocent to carry the No.1 saddle cloth.
