Jockey Linda Meech's victory on Mio Dio in the main race on the opening day of the Swan Hill three-day meeting has moved her equal with her personal best tally of winners for a season.
Her 111 wins so far in 2016/17 also equals the record Meech shares with Clare Lindop for the most wins in a season by a female jockey.
Meech first rode 111 winners in 2008/09 while Lindop reached that number in 2003/04.
The Will Clarken-trained Mio Dio finished strongly to win Friday's $100,000 Golden Topaz (1200m) by half a length over Smackdown, who won the race in 2015 and was third last year.
Meech has the chance to set a new standard this weekend with rides over the final two days of the Swan Hill carnival.
Earlier this week, Rachael Murray became the first female jockey to ride 100 winners in a season in NSW, bringing up the milestone at Tamworth on Tuesday.
