Greg Bennett and Aquis part company

Thursday 15 June 2017, 10:37am

"Personal reasons" have been cited as the cause of a split between Clearly Innocent's former trainer Greg Bennett and Queensland-based racing and breeding operation Aquis Farm.

Bennett gave training away in recent months to take up the role of Director of Racehorse Development at Aquis's Canungra base in Queensland eight weeks ago.

Bennett's decision to walk away from training his team at Scone resulted in Clearly Innocent being transferred to Kris Lees and recently the gelding gave the trainer a Group I win in the Kingsford Smith Cup and a third placing in last Saturday's Stradbroke Handicap.

Bennett said he is unsure what he will do in the future while it is believed Aquis will make a statement about the split on Thursday.
