Oscietra favourite for Flemington race

Tuesday 26 September 2017, 3:28pm

Black Caviar's three-year-old daughter Oscietra is an early favourite to make it two wins from three starts when she makes her reappearance in a midweek race at Flemington.

Oscietra has not raced for seven weeks since winning an 1000m-maiden on the synthetic track at Geelong on August 11 at her second start.

Oscietra is an acceptor in Wednesday's Have You RSVP'd Handicap, a benchmark-64 race over 1000m for fillies, and in an early market was the $2.90 favourite on Tuesday.

By Exceed And Excel out of the undefeated champion sprinting mare, Oscietra made her debut at Flemington over the 1000m-straight course on January 1 when she finished third as the $2.10 favourite to Limestone and Miss Wahoo.

She has 59.5kg in Wednesday's race but apprentice Mitchell Aitken will claim 3kg.

Oscietra is the first of four foals produced Black Caviar and the only one to have raced so far.

Last week Black Caviar gave birth to a filly foal by More Than Ready.

She also has a two-year-old colt by Sebring named Prince Of Caviar and a yearling filly by Snitzel.
