Kyneton training gallop for Wicklow Brave

Monday 16 October 2017, 5:50pm

Three runners will represent the Werribee international quarantine facility in the Caulfield Cup.

Johannes Vermeer, Marmelo and Wicklow Brave finished quarantine last week as did Admire Deus who has since left the facility for Darren Weir's Warrnambool stable.

Johannes Vermeer will back up in Saturday's Caulfield Cup, seven days after his second to Gailo Chop in the Group One Caulfield Stakes.

Ben Melham takes over on the Lloyd Williams-owned Johannes Vermeer from Katelyn Mallyon on Saturday with Mallyon to ride fellow Williams-owned Sir Isaac Newton.

Johannes Vermeer is now the $7 equal second favourite with Admire Deus behind $6.50 co-favourites Bonneval and Humidor.

The Willie Mullins-trained Wicklow Brave will have a gallop before Tuesday's Kyneton races in preparation for Saturday's Cup in which he will be ridden by Hong Kong's champion jockey Joao Moreira.

Hugh Bowman is heading to Werribee for the fourth time in the past two weeks.

He partners Marmelo in the Cup and will ride the stayer in a work-out on Tuesday.

It will be the third time he has ridden Marmelo while he has also tested Tiberian as a potential Melbourne Cup mount.

Francis Of Assisi and Riven Light are both out with injury while Kidmenever failed to beat the Caulfield Cup ballot clause after running eighth in the Herbert Power Stakes on Saturday.

Wall Of Fire, second to Lord Fandango in the Herbert Power Stakes, is going straight to the Melbourne Cup.
