Two horses still in contention for the Melbourne Cup will need to be re-examined before final declarations are taken.
Jon Snow and Harlem are the only two of the 36 horses inspected by Racing Victoria vets over the past two days to require another examination before the acceptance deadline of 4.30pm on Saturday.
The vets are concerned with an injury to Harlem's left eye that is being treated by the Lindsay Park stable and both of Jon Snow's fore feet.
Harlem is engaged in the Lexus Stakes at Flemington on Saturday and will be examined by RV vets before the 7.30am scratching deadline while Jon Snow will be looked over again later in the morning.
Cup entrants set to run in the Lexus Stakes will undergo another inspection to re-confirm their suitability to accept following Saturday's race.
