Metro ride falls flat for Robbie Dolan

Wednesday 10 January 2018, 5:29pm

Robbie Dolan's first city ride has been a deflating experience for the Irish apprentice, who was unable to make the Canterbury midweek meeting due to car trouble.

Dolan was booked by Pat Webster to pilot Sovereign Eminence in the #the races Handicap (1200m) but had to be replaced by Blaike McDougall at late notice.

Racing NSW deputy chief steward Philip Dingwall said Dolan's vehicle had a flat tyre and after it was replaced the 21-year-old was caught in traffic.

Sovereign Eminence ($9) finished fourth in the race reserved for apprentice jockeys which James Innes Jr won on Forbidden Kisses ($8) for his master Gerald Ryan.
