On the day Nomothaj will try to win the $2 million Magic Millions Classic at the Gold Coast, another two-year-old filly sporting the same colours gets an opportunity to make an immediate impression at Flemington.
The Lindsay Park stable has Maribyrnong Trial Stakes winner Nomothaj in Saturday's Magic Millions Classic while fellow Shadwell Stud-owned juvenile Nasaayim makes her debut in Melbourne in the Meadow Mist Plate (1000m).
By Redoute's Choice out of Nocturnelle, Nasaayim was a $650,000 yearling at last year's Easter sale in Sydney and is related to stakes-winning colt Dracarys.
Dracarys, winner of the Up And Coming Stakes earlier this season, is by Snitzel out of Nocturnelle.
Nasaayim won a trial at Wodonga in September.
More recently the filly won a jump-out at Flemington last week in preparation for her debut and she has been installed the $3.20 favourite.
"She looks a really nice filly. She's got a touch of class about her," co-trainer Tom Dabernig said in the stable's online update.
"She's going into this race with only one trial though so she will be improved for the run. It looks a competitive race but I'm sure she'll run well."
