Trainer Tony Gollan got some consolation for the defeat of Ef Troop and Outback Barbie in the Magic Millions Classic when they helped him earn a $50,000 bonus for being the summer's leading trainer.
Racing Queensland put up a $50,000 bonus for each of the jockey and trainer who were leading on a points table at the end of the summer carnival.
After the final events at the Gold Coast on Saturday Gollan had earned 26 points to be a clear-cut leader.
He started the day on 19 but got points from Outback Barbie's third and Ef Troop's fourth in the Magic Millions.
"It wasn't what we were aiming for but it was a nice promotion by Racing Queensland," Gollan said.
Corey Brown was the leading jockey after his win on Pierata in the Magic Millions Guineas gave him the title.
The connections of Millions Classic winner Sunlight picked up a further $350,000 because she was first all-female owned horse across the line.
Secret Lady picked up $100,000 for her fifth with Meryl getting $50,000 and Witherspoon $25,000 for being the next horses home.
