Apprentice Nyssa Burrells continues to make slow progress as she recovers from a brain injury suffered in a fall.
Burrells ended up underneath the horse she was riding in a Warwick Farm jump-out on December 29 when it fell and she suffered a bleed on her brain.
Racing NSW's Dr David Duckworth said Burrells was getting stronger each day.
He said she was now out of intensive care and in the brain injury unit at Liverpool Hospital and going for walks with assistance.
He said she was communicating with family members but still at times confused and while it was hoped she would steadily improve over the next few weeks, she still had a long way to go.
