The daughter of retired champion jockey Greg Childs is among the latest intake of aspiring riders to Racing Victoria's Apprentice Jockey Training Program.

Tayla Childs is one of five people, four females and one male, to officially join RV's four-year apprentices' program on Wednesday.

Along with 21-year-old Childs, who is the twin sister of Group-winning jockey Jordan Childs, the other inductees into the program are 16-year-old Logan McNeil, 17-year-olds Tatum Bull and Madison Lloyd and 18-year-old Alana Kelly.

McNeil is the brother of Victorian jockey Jye McNeil.

"It is hugely rewarding to see the progress these young jockeys make both on and off the track, and I'm sure this latest crop will make their mark in the sport in the coming years," RV's Mel Weatherley, said.."
