Mick O'Leary can't remember how many winners he's trained at Warrnambool's May racing carnival.
But if he could wish for one more, it would be at next year's meeting.
"It's 49 years since I had my first winner here," O'Leary said.
"If I could have another one here next year it'd be 50 years since my first. I could retire happy."
For now though, O'Leary will be content with the victory of Faithful Jester who won a restricted-class race at Warrnambool on Thursday.
A horse which typifies O'Leary's love of a Warrnambool sting, Faithful Jester had made the trip to the track from his Mount Gambier stables twice before Thursday's race, running second the first time and winning at his next appearance in January.
"The first time he didn't know what to do and the second time I'd been a bit soft on him and he still won," he said.
"So I set him for this race straight away - you can get on for a bit of money here."
O'Leary concedes he hasn't won a race at Warrnambool in each of the past 49 years.
"I was shoeing horses for a few years," he said.
"But I can't remember too many times that I didn't pick one up."
O'Leary's biggest success at the Warrnambool carnival was with Down The Pitch who won the Cup in 1990.
